So what's up? I'm from Cleveland and it's not as great as that 'Cleveland Rocks' song says! It's a pretty depressing city where everything closes at 5pm [including the Rock Hall and Starbucks] National rock acts tend to avoid the city like the plague, And NYC keeps bitchin' about the Rock Hall being in Cleveland? Just take it, IT SUCKS! If you spend more than 25min in the Rock Hall (and you aren't at a show) you're one lame S.O.B.... "Hey look, that's Keith Moon's shirt"? Who gives a shit?! Art is not a fucking sport!
Sure we have some happenin' burgs like Lakewood and Willoughby, but downtown Cleveland blows! Nothing illustrates my point about Cleveland like a ride on the Goodtime III. It's really funny because it's like a riverboat tour of a bombed out city in-which half the buildings are condemned and one of em *swear to god* still has an advertisement for Wrestlemania 21 painted on the top... (Wrestlemania 21 wasn't in Cleveland btw!). In November I will be doing a photo series on the Goodtime III to document the decay of a modern metropolis and I will post the results!<--- Something to look forward too! :)
If you do hit Cleveland the coolest things are way outside the city like: The Cleveland Metropark Zoo (which is excellent), The Pro Football Hall Of Fame (which is also excellent), the Westside Market, and you can hang-out with me and go to movies... Seriously, what's better than theater popcorn???
So in closing I'd like to say Cleveland rots! Cleveland rots!
